1. Roam around Richmond Park
Stepping into Richmond’s famous Royal park feels like embarking on a rural retreat, full of spectacular views, winding woodland trails, and the buzz of wildlife. The Tamsin Trail circular route is perfect for exploring the length of Richmond Park. It includes some inclines along the path, but nothing too heavy. Please note that dogs are welcome in Richmond Park but there are some areas where they are not allowed or must be kept on a lead to protect the wildlife.
2. Riverside walk from Richmond to Hampton Court
Follow a beautiful winding section of the Thames Path from Richmond down to Hampton Court, passing by lush meadows and historic towns. From point to point, this section of the trail is around 7 miles, with plenty of places to stop for a drink or well-earned treat. If you're keen to wander a little further once you arrive, you can explore Bushy Park or the dog-friendly sections of Hampton Court Palace, including the rose garden, the tiltyard, the wilderness and the courtyard. From there, there are easy transport links to get you back to Richmond.
3. Discover Marble Hill Park
Head down the hill and venture across the river to Marble Hill Park, where you'll find 66 acres of gorgeous green space with charming cafes, historical buildings, and those unforgettable views along the riverside. From here you can easily wander further into Twickenham, over to Ham House Gardens, or follow the river back into Richmond Town centre.
