Family ghost tours at Hampton Court Palace

Legend says that Henry VIII’s fifth wife, Catherine Howard’s ghost can be seen running through the infamous Haunted Gallery in the Palace. You can find out more information and buy tickets here: https://www.hrp.org.uk/hampton-court-palace/whats-on/ghost-tours/#gs.btt310

Evening ghost tour at Ham House and Garden

It’s rumoured that around 15 different ghosts, including a ghost dog, still haunt Ham House, so why not check it out for yourself by joining their evening ghost tour organised by the National Trust. On a candlelit walking tour of the mansion and grounds, you’ll hear a selection of unexplained spooky tales, because Ham House is one of the most haunted houses in Great Britain!

The recommended age is 7+ for the tours and they last around an hour, with a well deserved hot chocolate at the end. Discover more here: https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/ham-house-and-garden

Gothic stories for grown-ups at Strawberry Hill House

Strawberry Hill House was built in 1747, when Horace Walpole discovered and purchased ‘Chopped Straw Hall’, and set about transforming what was then a couple of cottages into his vision of a little Gothic castle with pinnacles, battlements and a round tower.

Discover Horace Walpole’s Gothic Castle at twilight with a glass of fizz upon arrival  and join your guide for a tour surrounded by an eerie atmosphere. Beware if you are of a nervous disposition as there will be a few surprises along the way! Adults only. More information here: https://www.strawberryhillhouse.org.uk/gothic-stories/
